Sincerely Seven Turns 1!

I can barely contain my excitement. 1 year ago today Sincerely Seven was born. 1 year ago, I finally gathered the courage to publicly go live with my passion to blog and share my experiences. I did -and still do- struggle with the idea of airing my secrets. Blogging allows me to journal my thoughts in a way that has since proven to be therapeutic.

Here's what I've learned over the past 365 days:

Be yourself! So often we get caught up in being that girl, we forget that being just who you are is something that can never be taken away from you. Being 'social media famous' has saturated so many of minds, it's often too difficult to just be yourself. Blogging has taught me to be truthful, careful not to submit to content that may taint who I really am. I vow to be myself both as a blogger and in my everyday life.

Use others as inspiration. There is so much to learn and share within the blogging community. While remaining true to who I am, I found it beneficial to stay in the know of what happens around me. I begin to follow like minded people on Social Media and really study the content that they published. Careful not to copy, this allows me to produce authentic content that is relevant and topics that captures my audience's attention as well.

Ask for help. Girl, blogging is not to be taken lightly. I don't know who needs to hear this again, but we know closed mouths don't get fed. With this thought in mind, I attached myself to a group of like minded women who holds me accountable and encourages me to follow through. Shout out to Coya and The Cir(her)cle Group for the insightful planning and co working sessions, content workshops, webinars, strategy calls, etc. No matter how long you've been in business, it's never too late to grow within. Nothing comes quick and easy, so never give up.

Value your supporters! Allow me to take this time to publicly thank all of my supporters over the past year. Simply reading and commenting to display your support gives me all the feels in more ways than you may know; besides, without you, who would I write to? I make it my business to comment back. Engagement with my supporters also makes me aware of what my audience wants to see.

Stay consistent sis! I remind myself of this the most. In order to receive the best results, it's imperative to post consistent content both on social media platforms and in my case, with publishing blogs. I never wanted to commit to a strict schedule because, ya'll know, life be life'n. I did, however, make it a practice to formulate a monthly schedule and try my best to implement that plan. Some months, it worked and I produced the content I needed. On the contrary, I found that when my content was not well planned, I only yielded the results I planted. Still, I have not given up on myself and this moves me to just be better the next time. Taking a breather is cool and all, but girl.. you just have to pick yourself up and jump back in-head first!

Know your audience! To whom are my letters addressed? I also struggled here. I needed to learn to identify my content pillars- and speak to those who can relate. This helps me target my audience and minimize the feeling of being all over the place. I'm still learning here...

Within the year, I received a paid endorsements which I am forever thankful. My mailing list and newsletter subscribers continues to increase. I'm excited to continue to learn and grow throughout the next few years as a blogger. I encourage you to stay along for the ride as we cruise thru deeper topics relating to family, marriage, and motherhood as Sincerely Seven moves forward. Thank you for reading. Thank you for commenting! Thank you for allowing me to be me!

XX,

Seven!
